supporting the textile industry

Welcome to the Textile Innovation Knowledge Platform

Welcome to the taster page for the Textile Innovation Knowledge Platform (TIKP).

The TIKP has been developed by the Textile Centre of Excellence under the Textile Innovation Programme to collate and share information on the growing technical textiles field in the UK.

The site is currently under construction but, when launched, will host a range of information relevant to industry professionals and those wishing to pursue a career in technical textiles, including:

  • Information on regulations and test standards, including links to relevant resources
  • Links to journals and publications
  • Skills and Education - signposting you to training
  • News

A dedicated knowledge section will provide information under the following areas:

  • Technologies
  • Material Functionalities
  • Market Sectors
  • Materials

Here, the science of the materials will be explained, as well as their function and how they are being innovatively used. The Market Sectors area will contain statistical information across the technical textiles sectors with links to publications and online resources. The aim is to not duplicate information, so a range of links will support the content, enabling it to be appropriate for a range of users. An interactive notice board allows to you post comments and suggestions.

The site will be available to preview from mid-September and being officially launched in October with a Free Live Webinar. Prior to this launch, you can follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and/or register your interest using the form below.

Attendees of this year's Premiere Vision at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, 19th-21st of September are invited to come and view live demonstrations of the site, in Hall 5, Stand 5C18.

Our researchers will work hard to ensure relevant and current information is available on the site; however, interactivity is encouraged so if you have any news stories you would like to share or a subject you feel is important to be included, please contact us using the below form. This form can also be used to register your interest in the site's progression and to be kept informed of the launch date and live free webinars.
