NASA unveil new Prototype Spacesuit

20th December 2012

Today NASA released photos of its new spacesuit design, the Z-1. Currently only at the prototype stage, the design has gained widespread attention given its apparent likeness to the well known Disney Pixar Character Buzz Light-year.

The Technical details are yet to be fully released by NASA, but as we have previously seen with the integration of microencapsulated Phase Change Materials developed for the Space Program being filtered down into consumer goods, it is likely that some of the innovations used in this suit will be of interest to those in the technical apparel field.
